A Soundless Tree

How a band could produce four songs so banal and yet so completely contrived is honestly quite startling. A Soulless Tree would have been a more accurate title. The only way I come close to describing this “collection” is to compare the songs to something you would find halfway through a Ken Russell movie sung by a postman delivering letters or other such obtuse situation. Overly theatrical and self indulgent the thoroughly competent orchestral string arrangements are completely wasted behind a singer who could have been lifted from some Am Dram night in Kent. The PR reads, “a clutch of songs that tackle the consequences of human inability to communicate”; well, PR that speaks the truth for once.
