Now in her forties, PJ Harvey has lost none of her vitality, edge or ability to make you listen, twenty years since her debut single ‘Dress.’ And she pulls no punches with the lyrics either. “I’ve seen and done things I want to forget / soldiers fell like lumps of meat.'” She’s taken many different musical directions over the last twenty years, but she’s never been less than oustanding, compelling and individual, and so it is with this.
