Mr Wobble
Mr Wobble's Nightmare (Tigerbeat6)
The late 80s and early 90s, when sampling opened up to a far wider market, saw a surge in quirky dance tracks with spoken word sections over the top imploring the news that people were dead and ironically referring to the excesses of rave culture that would have parents up all night as much as the kids. It seems as though these tracks have made a positive impression on some people and Mr Wobble attempts to bring back those “glory” days with ‘Mr Wobble’s Nightmare.’
Truth be told, the spoken section sounds horribly dated and does a dis-service to a casual yet hardly ground-breaking bouncy techno track that lies underneath. In a different environment it may work well but on first few listens, you can only question why anyone would feel the need to bring this sort of track back?
