Miyagi

Dragonfly (Slow Train Records)

The debut from Edinburgh’s Miyagi is a 60s-style psychedelic mish mash complete with trippy bass and hippyish backing vocals. So sit back, put a flower in the bandana tied round your head and skin up a fat joint.

It’s a pity summer’s well and truly up the swanny, as this could’ve been the soundtrack to all our summer holidays. Or at least, our imaginary ones, when we’re all blond with lithe, tanned bodies, motoring down to the beach with surfboards on top of our VW vans. ‘Dragonfly’, with it’s hypnotic beats and kinda mystic edge can almost make you forget that a Scottish summer is pretty much about being alarmingly pale, sweating in a cagoul and moaning.

‘Dragonfly’ is a download only single available now from all good online stores.
