Lydia Lunch
Big Sexy Noise (Sartorial)

Lydia Lunch’s Big Sexy Noise is a very strange affair; here the veteran noise-maker and experimentalist croaks trashy clichés through a sound which after a one-eared listen can easily become background, but the musical similarity of all the pieces though eventually develops a hypnotic power which is such that one might even start to even enjoy the triumphal destitution preached by the insane singer. Subject-wise this is all standard New York fare; lives are smashed to pieces and families and relationships hang by a thread as this Big Sexy Noise takes us on the most vulgar of tours.
