There really isn’t a lot to be said about La Jovenc’s (real name Giovanni Dal Monte) album Perverse or Polymorphous other than it has to be one of the most bizarre albums you’ll ever listen to.
Giovanni Dal Monte has tried a little too hard to be experimental with Perverse or Polymorphous and the end result has been a mix of completely different but all similarly weird sounding tracks.
The vocals on the track could easily be mistaken for an X Factor reject with broken English who can’t remember all the words to the song and decides to improvise.
However, it may just be down to taste. There are certainly some people out their who have nothing but praise for the album.
Barry Adamson who composed soundtracks for several David Lynch films has labelled the album “superb” and avant-garde composer, John Zorn also appreciates Dal Monte’s music.
If you happen to like experimental music with strange outcomes, by all means give Perverse or Polymorphous a listen, but it certainly isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea.
