Older readers may remember this lot – though any similarities to the band which existed at least six years ago will be I suspect long-since forgotten since those pre-broadband days. This incarnation of the Dundee/Kinross six-piece are still making noisy guitar rock (that much we can glean from anecdotal evidence).
There are two standout bits parts to ‘Memorials’ – the intro, which sounds a bit like a theremin before crunching guitar kicks in; and the kind of middle eight/bridge bit where it all goes quiet with the whispered threat: “I’ll bring this house down”.
The rest of the tune is pretty decent emotionally-charged rock which rips along at a good old pace. Will be interesting to see what else the band have in their locker, but for now, let’s welcome them back.
