(Ken Garner's definitive account of the Peel Sessions)
The Peel Sessions: A Story of Teenage Dreams and One Man’s Love of New Music, an account of every set of tunes recorded for the John Peel show, has been compiled by Ken Garner - Glasgow-based media lecturer and acknowledged expert in all things Peel - and is due out on October 4th. Garner had completed a previous book, ‘In Session Tonight’, in 1993 but this update covers all 4000 sessions over 35 years including the additional sessions from that date up until the final recordings in 2004.
This coincides nicely with Peel Day, the series of nation-wide gigs organised for October 11th (the anniversary of his last broadcast) on October 11th.
