Alternative musicians must often face a dilemma. The environmental impact of touring, versus the need to promote themselves. This EP explores this thought, the artwork even based on the contributors’ travel maps from last years festival season. However, the songs here help redress the balance – from the distinctive flamenco-esque flourishes of SAY Award-winner RM Hubbert, to the harmonising Pictish Trail’s story of “playing to literally tens of people”, this clutch of tunes evocative thoughts of travel, all helmed by the sweetly-voiced Jo Mango. Admiral Fallow’s Louis Abbott, and appropriately, Rachel Sermanni – herself from far off the beaten track – also play cameo roles in a lovely charity collection which offsets guilt as well as carbon.
