We Go Hunting (Beggars Banquet)

Described by one newspaper as “library rock”, Leeds’ iLikeTrains are one of the more intellectual bands of any scene. Their dark, apocalyptic, post-punk soundscapes are perfect for these two tales of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The b-side ‘More Weight’ is about Giles Corey who refused to plead guilty to witchcraft and was crushed to death by rocks after two days of torture. His final words are set as lyrics to this incredibly sad, bleak and moving piece of music. Attention Interpol and Editors – this is how to make miserable music.
