“The guitar’s out of tune / we’re not very good - we’re the support band.” So goes this tale of a hapless support and that is so acutely well observed it walks that thin line between being funny and painfully true. Proof, if proof were needed that there is more to this band than their seminal ‘Preposterous Tales’ flexi, from 1987. “The crowd doesn’t care / because the crowd isn’t there / we’re the support band.” Excellent stuff.
