I’m not sure we need another post rock band from Glasgow, but happily, despite their description and influences, Galleries are probably pretty far-removed from that genre. That’s not to say that fans of Mogwai, EitS etc won’t enjoy their aspirational, anthemic pop, which if you’re looking for a pigeonhole, fits into whatever genre “M83 crossed with Arcade Fire” falls under. ‘Underground Overground’ - with not a Mike Batt Wombling chorus in sight - and ‘Clive Wearing’ with its soaring vocals and sweeping orchestrations, reaches for the stars, and by golly, finds them.
