Ian Curtis biopic ‘Control’ is to have its soundtrack album released in the UK. The 15 tracks span the length of the film, and eventually arrive at the present day with The Killers’ version of ‘Shadowplay’. Before that, there are contributions from early in the youth of Curtis, with David Bowie and Roxy Music tracks, early punk tunes form the Sex Pistols and an early version of Buzzcocks ‘Boredom’. And as well as songs from Joy Division themselves, there’s an early tune from Warsaw, the Bowie track which gave that band their name, and a version of ‘Transmission’ as performed by the film’s cast. The album appears on October 1st , 4 days before the film goes on general release.
