This is the perfect record with which to start the autumn. It’s got a floating quality that conjures up images of the sea, of taking you on a slow journey of discovery, probably very much welcome after a Saturday night full of hedonism.
The tracks all flow seamlessly into one another, yet each have a distinct identity of their own, which makes for a very full and satisfying listen. After the hedonism of the summer, what we need is something deep and housey to slow down our aching hearts. This record has that quality in spades.
The bass guitar looms ominously in the background, the drum machine kicks and starts like a breakdancer coming down from caffeine overload and over the top of all of this, there are synthesiser breaks which sound almost human. It is, in short, a lovely Sunday morning type of house record.
