After Friday night’s excesses, rounded off by Arctic Monkeys, Saturday in the sun at T started off at the T Break stage with Motherwell’s The Lafontaines playing to a decent sized crowd –

Standing, with beer in hand on a sunny summer evening (an almost complete novelty in Scotland) on the opening night of this year’s T in the Park, waiting for the up and coming Glasgow band Twin Atlantic I was struck by the sense of expectation that was emanating from the crowd.



Rockness 2011

Organisers promised it would be the ‘Year of the Ness’, and after winning Line Up Of The Year at the UK Festival Awards and Best Small Festival at the NME Awards, they had a lot to live up to.

First impressions count. So when I arrive at Doune Castle’s impressive entrance to relieve (ho ho) David, first thing I see is that the toilets are being cleaned.

Taming the Jaberwocky (“Jaberwocky” meaning “Hangover in this case), and easing us out of our tents the next morning is the smooth voiced Christine Bovil performing songs by the incredible French singer Edith Piaf.
