Buraka Som Sistema

Any track that kicks off with the klaxon call of M.I.A looking for trouble is always going to be worth a listen and thankfully Buraka Som Sistema have lived up to the initial flurry and promise.
‘Sound of Kuduro’ is an unsettling track, perhaps not even suited for the dance floor with its menacing edge and tribal rhythms but there can be no doubt the song needs to be played loud. A few of the raps threaten to take the pace and power down a step but you cant keep a good song down and the tempo always returns to punishing levels. The vocals of M.I.A. keep on returning to grab the attention and with the singer who recently gave birth to a baby, it may be the last new material unleashed by the feisty artist in some time. If so, this is an excellent way to bow out of the spotlight.
