Bulleit sessions bring Guitar Shorty to Glasgow

(Aliens and Found team up with blues legend Guitar Shorty)

American electric blues pioneer Guitar Shorty comes to Scotland to share a Fence-related bill which spans the decades, with appearances from The Aliens and Found. The first in a series of events sponsored by Premium Whiskey brand Bulleit Bourbon takes place at Glasgow venue Maggie May’s on April 10th.
Guitar Shorty regularly packs clubs in the US and in particular in LA. - credited with influencing both Jimi Hendrix (he married Jimi’s sister) and Buddy Guy, Shorty has also has extensive session credentials including work with Ray Charles, BB King and Little Richard.
The evening’s mission to link music ancient and modern is supported by the appearance of The Aliens - whose Beta Band lineage leads to both Oasis and Radiohead via of Messrs Gallagher and Yorke crediting the Fife act as an influence. And electronic art-folk ensemble Found complete the lineup.

You can win a pair of tickets to the show - simply answer the question: which band were members of The Aliens previously members of? email editor@isthismusic.com

Two days after the first event, Guitar Shorty will be inviting Glasgow musicians to bring their guitar to take part in a ‘jam-along’ with him. A rare opportunity for guitar aficionados to join musical forces with a renowned artist, Bulleit Jamming looks set to be one of the largest live group musical events Glasgow has ever seen. It takes place on Saturday 12th April at 3pm, Merchant Square, Glasgow. (Please note that participants must be 18 years old or above).
