There’s a real Beach Boys thing going on with the surf-inflected guitars and high’n’happy vocals, which tells that, at least for most of it, Bosco and the band had a good time while making it. There’s no real originality in the lyrics, they’re mainly about friendship, life and loves, so there’s something in there which most of us will be able to relate to at some point. They are underscored by roaring red guitars, which give off a very atonal sound. While this all sounds very accomplished, it does mean that some songs get lost in the mix. However, the sound is overall very fresh, even if the numerous instrumental versions and alternate mixes don’t really add anything to the album.
