Although first impressions might not be fantastic, they soon grow on me with their upbeat, punk-like ‘Shake Your Backbone’. The overall feel of the song is reminiscent of early Ian Dury and the Blockheads, with deep vocals and fast battering drums. There are electronic hints peppered throughout the track, making it more upbeat and modern. The b-side, ‘Reigning Reptiles’, has a fun and quirky introduction with initial animal sounds merging into electric guitars and pounding drums. The spoken lyrics of the song don’t overpower the music, and electro beats studded throughout again make it fun and lively. Overall, they are not to be overlooked and I can’t wait to see what their next offering will be.
