From all accounts there have been several delays in getting the Icelandic composers masterpiece beyond its domestic market. I am pleased to inform that Eulogy For Evolution does not disappoint. The delicate balance of emotionally charged piano, strings and (occasional hardcore) drums enthrals and mesmerises from start to finish.
Tonight sees the launch of the rather excellent mini-album by Ms Reeve and associates. Support comes from `Terra Diablo and friends` including Mike Baillie of Baillie and the Fault. They play a selection of covers including Neil Young and bizarrely enough, a fun version of the theme to the 70`s cult TV show [...]
The superb weather that Glasgow has been graced with these past few days subsides, being replaced by torrential rain. I find myself seeking refuge in the conservatory at Brel in the West end.
This is an interesting look at the diverse Amsterdam based label. The flavour is mostly punk (Sex Pistols punk as opposed to moronic ‘middle class American life is so hard’ punk thank god) with the occasional astract folk and electro pop numbers thrown in for good measure.
