Nobody seems to know where the problem lies with bands these days. Ever since Pete Doherty and co. crawled out of that fateful crack den it seems that something has been lacking from the world of guitar music.
Poetry! You either like it, or you don’t. Some are put off by its air of intellectual achievement, some by its allusiveness and obscurity. Some people just think its total crap, and don’t want an argument thank you very much.
The humble cassette is the most derided of formats. Sure, it doesn’t sound as good as CD and certainly doesn’t have the warm fuzz associated with vinyl but as objects go, it’s just so darn cute! This dinky cassette collects together some of Scotland’s top underground (and unsigned) talent.
An intriguing proposition, The Go! Team. Multi racial and bi gender, the group may well be a far more accurate (and evocative) picture of modern Britain than any Arctic Monkeys wannabe.
