It’s been a while since I was at the Liquid Rooms.
Given that Mogwai have a (well-deserved) reputation for awesome live shows, it’s perhaps a little odd that this is their first live album, a mere fifteen years into their career.
Don’t judge a record by its cover. The album sleeve of this (no doubt done by a very talented, lovely person) is technically well-delivered and makes you think this is going to be some sorta 70s sub-folk gloop.
The problem with singer-songwriters is that there are a helluva lot of ‘em out there. And a lot of them have interesting life stories, and have poured their heat and soul into their work.
