A great name and possibly the most unattractive and tasteless sleeve I’ve seen in along time, at least since I pulled out the inner-sleeve of Happy Monday’s Bummed album in a crowded room many years ago.
We often hear about perfect summer songs but this gorgeous, dark, moving single is the perfect winter song, particularly as since I first listened to it the world outside has been continually covered in layers of snow and ice.
Frightened Rabbit are one of those bands that have kinda bypassed me for reasons that I’m not wholly clear about. So I was quite shocked to arrive at Fat Sam’s to find the gig a complete sell-out with people being turned away.
I fell for Panda Su in a big way earlier this year when I witnessed them opening for We Were Promised Jetpacks.
This is a pretty damn good release. Around my way pop is a very good word and thing indeed and Kid Canaveral are unashamedly a pop group.
