This five track debut from the Alphabetical Order Orchestra arrives via Dropbox, bit of a faffle trying to listen to it, mainly due to Betty’s antiquated IT setup so apologies – music is mainly delivered via downloads these days… better get used to it.
First track (Untitled) is very melodic, building up from a double-tracked vocal to a guitar workout and anthemic fadeout, and then back to the start, perhaps a bit overlong for a lead single, but then without a press pack or other direction I’m not sure what the lead track is, sorry guys, a bit more direction for the reviewer might help, not that Betty is exactly going to influence the R1 playlist or anything…
I have to say that I gave up downloading other tracks from what is I think a 5 track release but struggled to find any other information as Betty really doesn’t do social media(there are good reasons for this, believe me, and my lawyers), I know they are on F”””book etc. (They are, at www.facebook.com/alphabeticalorderorchestra 0 web-savvy Ed).
Anyway from what I can gather the tracks are pretty promising and I also see that AOO are entering the live fray in August so good luck with that (and I will try to get along to Glad Cafe), I’m afraid I just need to get a bigger computer…)
(Editor’s note: the AOO, founded by former members of My Latest Novel, funded this EP via a Kickstarter campaign. Having now reached their target, it will be available as a limited edition 4 track 12″ vinyl release as well as CD, with priority ordering going to those who contributed)
