B-E-A-UTIFUL. Pepo Durantez, Pascal Hoerner and Renoi Jacob Mathieu (even their names are gorgeous) collectively: Alba Lua, have completely charmed me. I haven’t seen a photo of this trio yet because, quite frankly, it doesn’t matter what they look like. But I can imagine their promo photos: shot at sunset with a of hazy filter and looks of pensiveness on their little French faces.
This 3 track EP entitled ‘Ballad Of Joseph Merrick’ makes the most of dreamy guitars, hazy vocals and some absolutely enchanting percussion. Alba Lua – if you’re listening: please don’t sell out and allow your music be used as the soundtrack to one of these “quirky” adverts for mobile phones or dating websites; they’re out there and they want this music.
